Currently watching Candy Candy from 1977. Would love to watch Astro Boy from 1963 but I guess that's kind of impossible at this day and age.

yeah certainly :), now I watch both old and new ones.. there's a different feel about the old school anime that's impossible to find in new anime no matter how good it is..

I believe that feeling is nostalgia. Older animation style tends to bring back memories of when you were younger. It also makes you feel like you are in the time period the anime was made in. If you want the real feeling of old school anime, watch them on VHS, Betamax, or Laserdisc. I still watch anime on VHS and still use the VCR since 1996.

I've recently started watching anime movies by year, from 1985 and back as far as possible. I've seen most of the big ones, the last one was '70 Cleopatra by Tezuka. There's a lot of titles from the 70's and upwards, but once you get down to 60's the number really narrows down. Now I'm watching '69 Flying ghost (panthom) ship in which young Miyazaki was involved as an animator. And then I have the '66 Cyborg 009 left, if it's even available digitally.

I've always wanted to see the 1969 "Flying Phantom Ship" movie, but I can't find it fansubbed in English anywhere.

That's because it's sometimes translated as the "Flying Ghost Ship". You can find it on Bakabt.

Define oldest? I just watched "Oira no Ski" dated 1930 and "Oira no Yakyuu" from 1931. They are animated shorts.
What if the Hokey Pokey is what it is all about?

The oldest anime I've seen, but not completed, is the originally Lupin III. The oldest I've completed is either the original Gundam or Ie Naki Ko. (both aired 1979)

I like old movies and such though, and the earliest animation I've seen was from 1912 or somewhere around there. Don't remember the exact name, but it had a dinosaur.

I believe most people here are talking about series. If we counted shorts and such, a lot of us have watched Katsudou Shashin, which is from 1907.

PS: And if you still haven't, here you go, it's just 3 seconds:

I'll have to watch it.

I remember watching Kimba and Speed Racer when I was a kid. So Kimba would be '65 and Speed Racer is '67.

Mine would be Astro Boy (1980's series). I've seen heaps of stuff from the 60's and 70's but never watched anything all the way through.

I plan on watching the original Gundam soon, so I guess that will take it's place.

I think most of the old stuff that I like comes from the 90's.
