NEW Hourglass Illusion Luminous Glow Foundation SPF 30 VS Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint

I usually wear same color foundation as you and I use color #6 in Illusion Glow. I am over 70. I have used this foundation for about 3 weeks and am pleased with it.

I think I’ll be getting the illusion for my holidays (need a much darker shade as despite being light skinned I tan extremely well even with spf). I’m sold on it being a foundation as well as your pros & cons. The irony is I feel the need for more coverage despite being 40 now & not having much redness or blemishes; I guess old habits die hard! I do love a glowy foundation now though now that I don’t have much in the way of oily skin anymore; I often mix the Patrick Ta and new Fenty foundation together if I’m going out for a more formal or big event, it looks beautiful 😊❤. I tend to the layer the PT over the Fenty for a more glowy finish & just use less of each.

Thank you, Michelle, for this informative review. I was looking to find out the actual difference between these two Hourglass products. Your skin is pretty anyway, but I agree that the Illusion is a bit more suitable without going into a heavier foundation. Cars are a hard test though. It is dark in there and lighter outside, so not really a good way to test. I want to try it and wondered where I could get it in a shop; but I see it is not available except for the website.

Thank you for comparing those 2. I love the veil. I jused one tube completely up. And repurchased it. But I was wondering if the illusion was something for me. But I think I am more of a tinted moisturizer kind a girl. So I think I am good. 😊

I like the more hydrated look of the veil, but settling into lines isn’t good. The veil does get very dewy on my dry skin im surprised. My Lisa Eldridge didn’t even work the other day and the veil did. Thank goodness. 😅

I have tried both . didn't like the new illusion at all. settled into pores with a very unsatisfactory finish. Never had a problem like this before with other foundation or tinted moisturisers !

If you have dry mature skin, westman atelier is not a good option for concealer

I love how the Glow Foundation SPF30 looks. However, there are always concerns about certain chemical UV filters like avobenzone, homosalate, and octisalate, as some studies suggest they may contribute to hormone disruption or accumulate in the body. For sunscreens, I'd prefer mineral base.

I wasn’t able to see the white cast at the end of the day from the Illusion. I’m a fan of the more SPF the better, on top of SFP skin care, etc. As someone who has had two recent basal cell skin cancers removed (as a result of bad behavior as a teenager, who knew?), I’ve been very careful in the last 20+ years and can’t recommend that enough to your subscribers. I thought the Illusion side gave better coverage without being overwhelming, BTW.
