Wow, this episode, it's like saying that Hii-kun's giving up on manaka, and chii-chan's the one for him. But I'd really prefer manaka and hii-kun, cos she needs a lot of protection.
Saltflake snow on the surface seems like a bad sign.
So what if they'll need to sacrifice another girl to the Sea God?
That is why the Ofunehiki(?), the wood girl they made, always gets broken.
Man even though 2013 isn't the greatest year for anime, thanks to Nagi no Asukara, Monogatari and the main arc of railgun it still has some serious amazing anime nonetheless.
this episode was just soooo sweet. I love the writers, finally a really good drama again.
I am falling, I am fading, I am drowning, help me to breathe.
This episode was pretty laid back after the events of the last one. It was nice to see Hikari have an actual "family" with a "mom, dad, and sister". For his real family, his sister became like a mother figure to him growing up while his dad was always distant. I have a feeling this happiness won't last too long though with all of the drama between the Sea and Land people elders
The saltflake snow phenomenon happened on the surface! Whoa.
I wonder what is gonna happen to the ecosystem now... and what is the reason for it to happen.

solid episode for development indeed...
The kids are getting comfortable and getting used to the surface... the major drama will go off when everybody establish acceptance to those who leave the sea...
BUT
Something is definitely going to happen…. that salt flake snow... ominous feels....
Man, such a nice episode. I think this is definitely becoming my favorite anime this season. I dunno why I keep expecting the next episode to be worse, but it just seems to get better each time.
I hadn't even thought about the possibility that Hikari would also be living with Miuna and her dad... Hikari has easily become a perfect older brother for her to look up to. Lots of good character development this episode.
What a great, heartwarming episode :) I wonder what the saltflake snow on the surface means.. I'm so curious! >< And Hikari's character just keeps getting better and better!
More like 'god' vibe
You can even see the same smirks at his face.
I really love how they played the drama, given 26 episodes they really take their time into stirring it up slowly, trying not to get overcooked or too raw. I guess Hikari was on the spotlight now, wonder how they will develop others.
This is easily won the season for me.
The most important things in life is the people that you care about
Plot that makes it even more enigmatic relationships between the characters.
But it is a fact that some points are consolidated. In addition, the narrative thanks to the seabed seems almost a true story as well as being so addictive! WOW! * _ *
I was about to explode when Chisaki after coming out of the elevator had Hikari from behind and I thought: Now ... you tell him, tell him! * _ *
The question I ask myself now know the feelings of Chisaki and Manaka and Hikari, but I would understand those Tsumugu! Kaname instead is asexual! XD
No, jokes aside are daredevils, not leaked anything about them! Damn! -. - "
It's going really well this series and the cliffhanger makes the wait exhilarating! : D
That was cute, also that saltflake snow. I wonder what comes next.

Is it the first episode where we do not see crying, shouting, people acting mean, mad or sulking? It is a very well done episode and shows off the charm of Miuna pretty well.
And I guess the series is again taking a turning point because we are seeing a large scale "out of natural" phenomenon in the "warm snow" falling at the end of the episode. So it may be not just about interpersonal relationships and inter-community relationships any more but something even bigger...
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?
I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?
I wonder how long people would put up with this.
As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
I've been a HUGE fan of Nagi no Asukara since day 1 and man, this series just continues to get better and better. This was an excellent episode for character development and I really love the direction this series is going.
I'm ashamed there aren't more people giving this series a chance. It seemed like a lot of people were turned off by the early melodrama and I can sort of understand why, but considering the plot of this series, it seems like something you need to get through in order to enjoy it later. I did that and it just continues to exceed my expectations.

Yeah, because it is quite strange when something-sama said that the sea gods did not willing to let people together yet.. and when something-sama said that Hikari is the descendant of 'that' person he made promise with.

People often forgot how a teenage would reacts given such situations, they were just middle schoolers learning about love and yet has to face such blatant 'racial' segregation on the society. The characters immaturity during first few episodes just shown about how much potential they could improve.

Once more, I'm amazed by the animation. Ugh, it keeps surprising me every single episode...
But seeing more of Miuna's emotions was nice too. I think it'll be nice when they flesh out this story a bit more (with Itaru and Akari)... but for now, there's still some troubling issues at hand.
This might be my new favorite anime of all time. Even the down-low filler-like moments like this one build relationships. Every episode so far, including this one, contributes to my enjoyment of it.

Really love how Hikari is developing as a character, he is admirable. Dat Chisaki x Hikari moment
His face when she mentioned his feelings for Manaka. Miuna is such an adorable kid, and gotta love how they supported her when she was feeling down. Akari is a great mother-like figure
I really want Manaka and Hikari, but it's really looking like the human and sea people combo is going to be the plot device for the show.
Chisaki should just confess to Hikari already so he can give up on Manaka. Then Manaka can get with Tsumugu and everyone can live on the land happily ever after. Kaname gets the other loli girl I guess XD.
Loving it more and more every episode! Hikari really impressed me in this episode, his development has been amazing so far. Miuna is absolutely adorable with her salt water bottles and then the necklace for Akari. The saltflake snow on the surface is really strange! Looking forward to an explanation.
I loved this episode... made me cry in the end. It was beautiful <3
The feelings towards each other is what make us continue living, is what life is about. Akari wanted to make the things good. She wants to form a family, and has that strenght, has love. Beautiful <3

Also, i don't know if i said that before, but their blue eyes are so beautiful.
Hmm, why do I find myself strangely rooting for a future Hikari and Miuna pairing... but then again Hikari and Chisaki is also good to see.
So glad to see Chisaki making a move when given a chance. I would have hated it for her to keep being completely passive about things. As for Hikari, he's become a lot more likable now. Hopefully he doesn't regress to how he first was.
No wonder that snow looked a bit different... but what is sea snow, exactly anyway? Normal snow is just ice. Not only has the Sending run into problems with bickering adults, now we have omens from the sky... anyway, loving it when there is no episode that I can clearly identify as filler - every episode has something important between the characters happening in it.
It was really a lovely episode, though the end left me wondering... Didn't the priest said at one point that something terrible would happen to the people on the land? Is this what he was talking about? After all, if it's start raining salt, all the water will because salted and so undrinkable. Anyway, that's just my two cents, I guess it's more complicated than that.
I'm sad that Hika gived up on Mana so soon. I mean, I want to see him with Chisaki in the end, but I would have loved that they push their romance farther. Not that it's impossible now, it's just that it's more leading to Hika trying to hook her up with Tsumugu.
Miuna is adorable, when she poured that water on Hika, it was hilarious :P
Also, I almost forgot about Hikari behavior, which I think that he had one of the best devellopement I've seen on an high-schooler character. He started as a racist annoying brat, and now he's helping everyone and is almost a equality activist.
«Time is passing so quickly. Right now, I feel like complaining to Einstein. Whether time is slow or fast depends on perception. Relativity theory is so romantic. And so sad.» - Kurisu Makise a.k.a. The Zombie
Hikari has really developed into a much more mature person. He still has his hot-blooded traits, but you could see he's gotten a lot more rational (though, he was still somewhat rational in the early episodes too). Because of this, his development felt natural, even if it was pretty early in the series.
Though, I feel bad for Hikari. He really liked Manaka, but he's decided to give up on her and realized that she actually has feelings for Tsumugu. Even though he gave up, it'll obviously hurt him inside for awhile to see Manaka and Tsumugu interacting with each other; since it does that to most people.
Miuna was really cute this episode. She was forcing herself to be mature in the previous episodes after what happened to her, but now you can sense the childlike behaviour she really has; from running around to choosing the perfect gift. She also showed her caring side, packing the salt water early in the morning, and bringing all that water in her bag; it's no easy-task, that size of a bottle is heavy for a little girl like her. Miuna and Hikari were definitely the characters of this episode.
Chisaki...
Fortunately, I don't feel like I know too much about her to give her an actual opinion yet. I haven't warmed up to her as much as I did to other characters, but I know many people like her. She's obviously really shy, and doesn't do things on whim. She might be considered the weakest in the group, because of her personality, but I think it's a bit realistic. Not everyone is a super outgoing or socializing person. Chisaki is definitely "outgoing" but in her own way. She prefers to think before she acts, but when she isn't able to do that "thinking" (if a situation is given to her suddenly), she tends to mess up. She's definitely a strong character in her own ways, but has her own flaws. Then again, which character doesn't have flaws.
Great episode overall. The OST, atmosphere, and the determination to the fun the characters were having were expressed well, and I was pretty much drawn to the whole episode.
OTP set! Hikari x Miuna all the way! If Hikari is giving up on Manaka, then I don't really care about her anymore. The part with Akari and Miuna was so cliche.
Chisaki was even more cute and pretty this episode *^*
Nice, Hikari.......you are really starting to mature more now :D
Awww, Miuna is sweet. The necklace looks nice~ Good for Akari!!
Saltflake snow, huh.
I agree with everyone saying that Chisaki was great this episode :)
But I found Miuna to be the real star, she was so cute and sweet~ She and Akari are bonding quite well.

I agree. I'm definitely seeing character development on his part.
